This month’s multibreed sale at Newark saw the Charolais on offer lead trade at 4800gns for Wesley Deacon from Wesley Estates. This is a Balthayock Aesop son out of a homebred dam and sold to G White and Con, Alford, Lincolnshire.
Second top was the pre-sale champion, Wesley Eddy, another by Aesop and going back to a Maerdy Rock sired dam. He had a TSI in the top 5% of the breed at +35 and sold to A E J and F J Clarridge, Middle Clayden, Buckinghamshire.
Then at 3000gns was the reserve champion from the pre-sale show, Brampton Dubai from Billy Turner, Ripon. He is by Billingley Talisman and sold to H Williams and Sons, Machynlleth.
Females from Wesley Estates sold to a peak of 3000gns when Wesley Ability, a Thrunton Trojan daughter with an Aesop-sired heifer calf at foot sold to P K Farms, Boston. At the same money was Wesley Augusta, another by Trojan and with an Aesop heifer calf sold to K Emerson, Thringstone.
Top price among the Blondes was a 5000gns call for Tillbridge Dave, a Tillbridge Alex son out of a homebred cow. Consigned by John Ingle, Gainsborough, he sold to Ian Bosworth, Rolleston.
Second top at 4000gns was Burghwallis Dimebar from Willy and Michael Seels, a Maidenlands Vince son out of Elmhirst Liquorice, a Brigorman Freddie daughter. He was bought by R A Hall, Boston.
Topping the Blonde females on offer was a 2200gns call for Tilbridge Beth, a Bradbury Evan daughter out of a homebred cow from John Ingle. This one, sold with her first calf at foot by Ballygowan Noble sold to Mr Hackett.
At 2100gns was Marstonmill Bernadine from Ian and Sue Archer. This Uruba daughter is out of a Kinaston Noah sired dam and sold to Peter Fitzhugh, with a September-born bull calf at foot.
Top in the Simmentals on offer was a trio of 2600gns bids, firstly for Caistor Willhelm, an Exodus son out of Caistor Neptune. He sold to the Twell family, Spalding. The other at this money was Tilbrook Wizard, a Kilbride Farm Newry son out of an Arkmill Franklyn sired dam. He was taken by S and E Dow, Huntingdon.
Finally at this level was Brooklyn Ambassador from Linda Burditts. This Burghbridge Supersonic son is out of a Gretnahouse Supersonic-sired dam and sold to Messrs Atkin Bros, Harrow on Trent.
And leading the Aberdeen Angus was a 2150gns sale for Tree Bridge Estimator. He was bought by John and Brenda Popplewell, Newark.
In the Salers the top price was a 2600gns call for Rigel Antignac, a Sagitaire son out of a Crocodile Dundee sired dam. He went to Harry Wright, Cromer.
