Following the Lincoln Red sale a few weeks ago, the latest sale here at Newark was our annual multibreed beef sale, an event that is quickly gathering a strong following of buyers eager for quality stock.

As ever our vendors didn’t disappoint and nor did the buyers, bidding well for the stock on offer, with the top call a 4600gns bid for a Simmental heifer Thursford Treble 34 from D C Mitchell. This Blair Rory daughter sold to Messrs Forvague Bros.

Then making 4000gns was Blue bull Littlewood Edmonton from the Geary family, this Empire De O’chain son sold to J Ward Farming.

A pair sold at 3600gns with the first being Charolais bull Wesley Exterior from Wesley Estates. He’s a Balthayock Aesop son and sold to W H Farrow and Sons, Alford.

And also at this price was Simmental bull Therbeton August from L J Dowley. He’s a Kilbride Farm Newry son and sold to J W Ashmore.

Trading at 3500gns was British Blue bull Gregmaur Emanuel from Messrs Gregory. He is a February 2009-born Raciste Du Pachis A La Motte son and was sold to P Davies, Dereham, Norfolk.

Taking a 3300gns bid was Blonde Bull MarstonMill Dexter from Ian and Sue Archer. This March 2008-born senior bull is by Marstonmill Vodka and went home with H and J C Brown.

A 3250gns bid was enough to secure Blue bull Aprilton Ellio from Eileen Wilson. Sired by Gitan Pit Du Mayeur, he was bought by P Wood, Worksworth.

Then selling for 3100gns was another of the Blondes, Everingham Dazzler. This Ganaway Jasper son was bred by Neil Barrett and forward on the day from Messrs Blades. He sold to C R Wright, Howden.

Three Charolais bulls shared a price tag of 3000gns. First to go was Wissington Emperor a 15 month old by Thrunton Aristocrat from John Rix, Nayland, Colchester. He was the first of three purchases to go to G Adams and Son, Spalding.

The second entry to reach 3000gns was Brampton Eisberg from Billy Turner, Skelton on Ure, Ripon. Sired by Billingley Siralex this 17 month old was taken home by M Adcock of Grantham. The final 3000gns bid was secured by the same vendor for Brampton Entertainer a 15 month old Brampton Adar son. He sold to Loughborough based N A S Johnson.

Then at the same price was Blonde heifer Tilbridge Ula from J R Ingle. She is by Leprince and was knocked down to R D Green, Brigg.
